I'm a woman in my mid twenties, trying to get an education that will solidify a stable and creatively challenging future. I spent a good chunk of my early 20s studying English and film, but left a nearly finished degree in both to pursue an interest in interior design. My favorite aspect to the study is the history behind furniture, architecture and interior design.
As I was an English major for a good amount of time, I also have tried my hand at creative writing, getting published in school literary magazines and inserts, but never getting paid for my work. I still dabble, but have learned that I'm better at creative non-fiction, almost following to the T, the advice you're always given as a writer "write what you know."
My third interest has always been, but not necessarily in any order in my head, film. From a young age I lived for movies and television(which I consider to be mini films, especially if they're well made). Starting with my first loves, Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly, my favorite films span from Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window and Vertigo, to Singin in the Rain, Roman Holiday, Funny Face as well as campy 80s cult hits like The Pirate Movie. I like Film Noir, French New Wave, some science fiction and fantasy, but mostly I like drama, think Little Children or Atonement.
